About BurnBetter

BurnBetter helps UK stove owners make better decisions about fuel, everyday use, maintenance and safety in plain English.

Why this site exists

Working installer experience

BurnBetter is created by Darren, a fully registered HETAS installer, who also works with a highly experienced OFTEC registered installer.
Together, bring more than 50 years of combined industry experience, with a depth of practical knowledge that allows us to understand how different appliances perform in real homes and real-world conditions.

Practical, plain-English guidance

The aim is to explain the principles clearly, highlight common mistakes and help owners ask better questions.

Independent identity

BurnBetter.co.uk is an independent website and is not affiliated with or endorsed by DEFRA’s Burn Better campaign.
